AAA Explores Mercedes-Benz Arena as venue celebrates its 15th birthday
Fifteen years ago this week, AEG Europe opened Berlin’s Mercedes-Benz Arena with a remarkable string of shows; Metallica (12 Sept), Herbert Grönemeyer (13 Sept) and Coldplay (15 Sept). To mark the anniversary, Access has issued the latest edition in its AAA Explores film series that goes behind the scenes to investigate its facilities and meet the team.
Independent festivals All-Party Parliamentary Groups launched
The Association of Independent Festivals (AIF) has set up an All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for independent festivals. The APPG will be chaired by Giles Watling, the Conservative MP for Clacton, who has been a longtime member of the cross-party Culture, Media and Sport Committee.

Exhibition Centre Liverpool confirms new consumer events
ACC Liverpool Group has confirmed several new and returning consumer events, including several multi-year deals, to Exhibition Centre Liverpool. The events are expected to welcome more than 262,000 visitors to the waterfront venue and generate approximately £24m in economic benefit to the region.

A new platform, EXPO360, is aiming to transform the world of in-person exhibitions by offering digital twins of showfloors. EXPO360, headed up by former BBC, SKY and ITV programme maker Alan Tisch, provides a full 360-degree capture of an exhibition, with exhibitors able to promote their stands by adding rich media, interactive “hotspots” for their products and services. It has been launched following a pilot with Montgomery Group’s fabricator and installer trade event FIT Show.
