Trade show organisers poised for growth ahead of GED 2023

Global Exhibitions Day (GED), the annual celebration of the exhibition industry, will take place on 7 June 2023.

This year’s GED theme, “We Run the Meeting Places and Marketplaces for Everyone,” sets out to underscore the pivotal role of global exhibitions in shaping the marketplaces for customers of the future.

UFI president Michael Duck says: “On this Global Exhibitions Day, we invite you to join us in celebrating the extraordinary comeback of the exhibitions industry, a remarkable story of resilience, transformation, and triumph.”

Festival Republic offers work placements to University of Gloucestershire
Live Nation-owned Festival Republic has partnered with the University of Gloucestershire to provide more than 300 students with access to voluntary work placement roles in the areas of event sustainability and accessibility. In 2024, Festival Republic will also provide a nine-month paid internship as a sustainability assistant, based at the company’s London headquarters and festival sites, to a University of Gloucestershire student from within its Music and Sound degree programme.
Superstruct acquires trio of European festivals
The Providence Equity-backed live behemoth has now amassed nearly 90 festivals across Europe and Australia. IQ understands the controlling stakes were bought from various companies owned by Gareth Cooper (founder and former CEO of Broadwick Live). Financial details have not been disclosed.
